The Civic Action Committee (CAC) is a group of motivated individuals working behind the scenes to provide a voice for Muirfield residents on issues that impact our quality of life and our property values. We are a committee of the Muirfield Village Civic Association.
The CAC meets on the second Tuesday of every other month. For more information on the Civic Action Committee, contactBob Fathman at Rfathman@columbus.rr.com or 579-1699.
Muirfield Vendors List!
The CAC has created a list of service vendors who have been recommended by residents of Muirfield Village. The vendors on the list have been placed there by MVCA members based on their personal experience with the particular vendor. Thus, the MVCA as an organization is not officially endorsing any of the vendors on the list nor is the MVCA giving any warranty, whether expressed or implied, regarding the quality of their work. As with any potential repair or renovation project, you should review a vendor's qualifications and experience and check their references before entering into any agreement.
The MVCA Vendor List is provided as a courtesy of your membership in MVCA. We ask that you do not redistribute the list as we have already provided this list to all members. Non-members interested in obtaining the list should contact April Williams at april.williams@att.net for membership information.
The MVCA Vendor List will be updated and re-distributed periodically to include newly added vendors. Please contact Paula Linehan at (614) 395-0423 or paula@paulagroup.com to add a vendor to our list. Contact John League at (614) 792-3015 or jbleague@earthlink.net if you have trouble viewing or printing your copy.
CAC Success Stories
AEP Upgrades
The CAC has been meeting with AEP and was sucessful in negotiating $14 million in upgrades the the electrical delivery system within Muirfield. Crews are at work replacing cables, changing transformers and much more. the AEP work is anticipated to be completed in early summer 2009.
Memorial Drive Bridge
The CAC worked diligently to persuade Dublin to remove the Memorial Drive bridge from the new Community Plan. The bridge would add regional traffic to Memorial Drive, cutting near and through our golf courses, the Muirfield Golf Club and the Muirfield Country Club. We met with city officials, notified residents, garnered support from other civic associations, spoke at City Council meetings, and made our position known to Dublin Planning & Zoning and Council. Resolution: Dublin City Council voted on December 3, 2007 to remove the Memorial Drive Bridge location from the new Community Plan!
Water Tower
The City of Dublin plans to build a new water tower to handle the increased water supply needs from new development to the north and northwest of Muirfield. We worked diligently to persuade Dublin to build the tower outside of Muirfield. Resolution: Dublin City Council voted on December 3, 2007 to remove the Buckner Farm site in the center of Muirfield as a possible location from the new Community Plan!
Kroger Parcel
The Kroger Company purchased land for a 60,000 sq. ft. store and gas station at the northeast corner of Glick and Avery Roads, abutting 25 Muirfield properties. Citizens for Responsible Zoning (C4RZ) and members of CAC lobbied Kroger to reconsider the location. Resolution: Kroger notified residents in 2004 that they would not build the store.
Dublin School Redistricting
The Dublin City Schools went through a major re-districting effort in 2004. CAC was successful in working with the Dublin School Board, advocating that Muirfield students be considered part of one unified neighborhood.
